What a rare night! Two Deviant submissions!
Following our encounter with a weirdo on the staircase, ~Beautiful-Rose, ~sizzing and I had to move locations. We had no direction initially, but for whatever reason, Beauty and the Beast popped into my head, specifically the Ballroom dance. Then the fact that the LACC South Hall lobby was empty slid in. And I just blurted that we should do a Beauty and the Beast shoot! Uh...with Final Fantasy characters!
We rushed over and found the South Hall laid before us, virtually devoid of people!
If the staircase was difficult to shoot, this one was a real bear. I was able to set up a second flash on top of my camera bag, on top of a trash can, which was pretty close to where I needed it and close to the height of my lightstand. So the subjects were lit, but the wide open lobby/ballroom was going to be really dark. I ended up having to lengthen the exposure out to 1/25 of a second and slower to get some light in the background. The result was pictures that were bright enough for me to work with, but with a lot of motion-blur...but the blur ended up being wonderful! I love the feeling of movement in the bottom two photos of this set.

This is lovely. I love the perspective of all the shots, and the way her gown floats out as she moves. Very elegant.
